The YW Communications Coordinator is a critical role which works collaboratively across the organization as well as externally to curate opportunities to connect teams, programs, employees and the community. This cross-functional role is a key component in YW’s focus on the health and well-being of our employees while strengthening YW’s reputation in the community as a workplace of choice, a trusted partner and a critical influencer.
This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30p.m., Monday to Friday.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Bring YW’s purpose and voice to life through internal and external communications, storytelling, and engagement activities.
- Partner in the advancement and integration of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion framework; Health, Safety and Wellness; and a Learning culture.
- Support external communication and engagement through development of materials including media content, blog/vlog posts and YWonder Podcast.
- Engage leaders and employees at all levels to drive cultural transformation, cross-collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all activities are accomplished with an equity, diversity, and inclusion lens.
- Partner in the development and implementation of approaches to integrate employees into YW's unique culture for immediate and sustained engagement and connection (i.e. onboarding, learning organization actions, innovation initiatives).
- Participate in ongoing opportunities for professional development.
- Plan, implement, organize, coordinate and/or support internal and external events and activities that inspire participation and enhance organizational culture and community reputation.
- Continuously evolves YW’s internal engagement strategy to adapt to the changing needs, interests and priorities of the organization and its various stakeholders (employees, leaders, departments, etc.)
- With a focus on service excellence, build strong collaborative relationships with a broad set of stakeholders such as People Services, IT, Finance, Facilities, Executive as well as Programs and Services teams to communicate effectively; influence, build and support development and activation of communication strategies and tactics.
- Edit, design, and print internal and external publications and support branding opportunities to enhance employee connection and public reputation.
- Create a variety of impactful, consistent, and transparent communications, interactions, and engagement opportunities which permeate throughout the organization based on an ever-evolving internal & external communication framework.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Post-secondary education, with a focus on Communications, Community or Public Relations.
- One to three years of experience in a related field.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel; experience with Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator is a plus.
- A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and an Intervention Record Check is required upon commencement of employment.
- Professional poise and confidence to interact with multiple internal audiences and levels of organization, including senior management.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret diverse, complex, and ambiguous ideas into compelling messaging.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Demonstrated passion for engagement, event planning and the work of YW.
