We’re hiring a Communications Assistant. This is a part time, contract position, for August 14-October 17.
The Communication Assistant will work with the Shareworthy team during the busy fall events season, as we prep for and execute strategic and dynamic communication plans for several incredible events like fan conventions, touring productions, food & wine shows, and festivals.
They will be responsible for managing press lists, media monitoring, social media scheduling, copywriting/editing, and other online communications admin tasks. In addition, they will gain boots-on-the-ground event experience on-site at key events to execute media interviews, support event operations, manage guest lists, and capture social media content.
This role is ideal for a junior/intermediate communicator with a passion for arts and culture, and experience and interest in live events. Our ideal candidate will:
- Be comfortable and productive working remotely with their own computer, vehicle, and cell phone.
- Live in Calgary, be available to support at in-person client events (including evenings and weekends as scheduled)
- Be detail-oriented and excellent at time management
- Love social media content creation and online storytelling
- Be passionate about arts & culture and live events
- Be a great question-asker and team player with an optimistic outlook and the ability to stay cool under pressure.
- Be available for on-site events and for weekly meetings on Monday mornings (we’re totally game for flexible working hours for the ‘at the desk’ stuff).
Shareworthy will provide a flat fee of $3,200 for this contract (estimated 150 hours total), and cover all necessary expenses (including subsidizing phone bill, parking, on-site meals, etc.).
If you’re interested, please send a cover letter and resume [email protected] later than July 31, 2023. Please tell us about yourself (what’s your on-site superpower pulling off events?), show us your education and experience, and share what you think you could bring to the team! We’re not looking for piles of experience, and we’re open to teaching along the way for someone awesome who wants to learn, so fit and attitude will be key. Students and new grads will absolutely be considered. We’ll contact top candidates no later than August 2, 2023.
Looking forward to meeting you!
