Communications Advisor, Media & Issues Management

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to seek a Communication Advisor, to join them on a 2 years contract to work in Calgary, AB. Responsibilities:

• Strong experience providing strategic communications counsel to senior leaders and executives
• New releases
• Demonstrated superior writing and personal communications skills, including executive speech writing experience
• Assist with writing quarterly news releases, working with Investor Relations
• Write general news releases; develop and maintain key messaging documents, standby statements and media backgrounders, ESG performance, technologies and key issues
• Previous experience working collaboratively with an investor relations team and familiarity with key investor-related documents (e.g. MD&A and Consolidated Financial Statements)
• Website content
• Develop event prep docs for company representatives, as required
• Carry out other external or internal assignments, as required Deliverables:
• Comfort working to deadline and ability to be flexible when facing evolving priorities.
• Provide external communications counsel to executives and senior leaders
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Media messages
• Promote and enhance the company’s reputation as a responsible oil and natural gas developer
• Hands-on experience in developing and/or overseeing the delivery of major external communications documents such as a corporate annual report
• Speaking notes/speeches
• Look for creative ways to tell the company’s story through the media, social media and the company website including engaging staff as ambassadors
• Ability to build strong cross-team working relationships within a corporate setting
• Excellent critical and strategic thinking skills
• Demonstrated experience in writing corporate communications plans
