Our Mission (what we do every day to achieve our purpose):To provide early-stage financing and mentorship, alongside experiences and other resources to help diverse, aspiring entrepreneurs aged 18-39 launch successful businesses that contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic development, in their communities and for Canada.

Here’s The Opportunity
Futurpreneur is looking for an experienced Data & Insights Specialist to analyze a broad array of client and market data to glean valuable insights to improve Futurpreneur’s outreach, operations and entrepreneur support programs. Using their strong business acumen, the Data & Insights Specialist will collect data from different sources, extracting key business insights from and interpreting this data to help us reach and support young entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate will have mathematical and statistical expertise, along with natural curiosity and a creative mind. While mining, interpreting, and cleaning our data, this person will ask key questions, connect the dots, and uncover hidden opportunities for realizing our data’s full potential to help Futurpreneur improve our capacity to support diverse, young entrepreneurs.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent will work closely with many internal teams and senior leaders to present information using data visualization techniques for operating and also reporting purposes, both internally and externally with our funders.
This is a permanent, full-time position that can be located anywhere in Canada, though ideally in Toronto. The incumbent will be working on our hybrid work model (minimum 2 days in the office).

  • Develop and implement data models, such as conceptual, logical, and physical models, to represent complex datasets and business processes, and to facilitate data analysis, visualization, and decision-making. This includes selecting appropriate modeling techniques, tools, and software, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure model accuracy and alignment with project objectives
  • Credit Adjudication and compliance - analyze industry-specific application and disbursement data, track compliance conditions, report median days to disbursement (in conjunction with launch readiness), and provide insights on program/segment performance with credit scores and business risk profiles

  • Client experience - analyze client service data (calls/engagements, conversion rates, follow-ups, sentiment analysis using the data from our surveys, Zendesk ticketing system, CRM, website and client portal) and user experience data (customer flows, time, clicks, handoffs, process repetition) to improve service quality and enhance user satisfaction throughout clients’ Futurpreneur journeys
  • Work with senior leadership and various teams to make recommendations to adapt and evolve existing business strategies and propose solutions. Some of the areas include:
  • Client services and conversion - develop and maintain data models to accurately calculate the lead to applicant to disbursement conversion rate; analyze key drivers of conversion, such as lead source, nurturing activities, and engagement metrics
