Title: Data Migration Specialist

Our government client in Winnipeg, MB is looking for a Data Migration Specialist resource for a 24 mth contract (an initial 6 mth contract with an extension option of an additional 18 mth) reference 08Z27826-155. The position is preferred to be onsite in Winnipeg, MB but remote will be considered

Things You Need to Have:

· Post secondary education in information technology, information systems or computer science.

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in technical Information Technology roles within complex enterprise environments.

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in MS SQL Server or other RDBMS technology.

· A strong understanding of data protection and data governance. Understand data usage and implications for data migration

· Experience in:

o Data solution architecture

o Data analysis

o Implementing data migrations or migration solutions

· Have a thorough understanding of data reconciliation and how to reconcile migrated data with source data

· Have experience with Data Discovery, Data Assessment, and Data Prioritization.

· Expert knowledge in at least one enterprise ETL tool

· Have experience with extracting metadata to build a searchable catalog of all data assets

· Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational and problem solving skills

• Implementing CRM solutions
• Data Warehouse solutions
• Working with Student Records Management Applications

What you will be doing:

The Data Migration Analyst is expected to lead, design, develop and implement all work related to the data migration, modelling, data management and optimization of the system and analytics for the Records Management System. They will provide quality assurance on data conversion work, verify data integrity, develop and update documentation for data conversion, and the creation and usage of complex scripts

· Create a migration plan, and implement the direct migration of data and integration solutions.

o Work with subject matter experts and project team to identify, define, document and communicate the data migration requirements

o Design, plan and manage the data migration process

o Manage assigned risks and monitor potential impacts as part of the migration plan

o Data Mapping, connecting a data field from the old database to a data field in the new database.

o Transform data as needed.

· Manage and control delivery quality including testing and documenting

o Develop best practices, processes, and standards for effectively carrying out data migration activities
