What you’ll be doing

As a member of the Third Party Governance Office (TPGO), the Consultant, Data Analyst plays a critical role for making complex data more accessible, understandable and usable to our users, as well as creating tools that can help simplify and automate our processes. Incorporating design thinking, process design and user experience techniques to create intuitive dashboards for our users for insights and analytics.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote

How You’ll Succeed

• Data Analysis. Working with business partners, conduct business analysis, documentation and development of complex business requirements to deliver high quality solutions, through the existing infrastructure framework related to data ingestion, transformation, calculation, and reporting of risk related metrics in an impactful way.
• Focus on Innovation and Simplification. Strive for continual enhancement of data quality and contribute to system and governance process simplification.
• Technical / Data Modelling Skills. Prior experience in finding meaningful insights and design intuitive visualizations is beneficial. A background in data design will be an asset.
• Stay Current with Best Practices. Our team constantly looks for ways to improve user experience and insights consumption, staying up to date with industry best practices in storytelling/data visualization, user experience, machine learning and big data analytics.
• Curious and Creative. We are looking for someone who is curious and creative, someone who is innovative and likes to try new concepts, as well as interpret themes and insights, and design an experience that makes complex insights more intuitive.

Who You Are

• You have a degree/diploma in: Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and/or a related field of study.
• You’re driven by collective success. You know that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one. You understand the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to create shared vision.
• You know that details matter. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
• You have demonstrated experience in: Data Analysis tools (SQL, SAS, Alteryx, Hadoop) and PHP, Python, Django, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript. Advanced experience in excel. You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics and/or Risk Management. It is an asset if you have strong knowledge of Tableau and/or Microsoft Power BI.
