The RPM Insights crew is growing, and looking for a Business Consultant.


What You’ll Do


As part of the Retail Performance Model (RPM) Insights crew, you’ll be focused on developing impactful and tailored insights for TELUS Retail Ltd. corporate stores and kiosks. From ad-hoc analysis to interactive dashboards, you’ll play a part in helping to grow the business by enabling data-driven strategies and helping business owners and leaders identify their most lucrative growth opportunities.


As the most senior member of the team you’ll act as the connective hub within the Insights crew and across other enablement and strategy teams. Working in close partnership with the team lead and peers, you’ll help create and implement the foundational frameworks, focuses, and strategies that allow the entire team to do their best work. As our team’s lead storyteller, you’ll bring objective and impactful insights to our leaders and executives.


Within the Crew
  • Leading the structuring and shaping of team working cycles
  • Connecting new learnings and developments across people and projects
  • Organizer – helping us ship work
  • Exploring advanced data techniques and platforms to develop intelligent, proactive, and predictive opportunity insights
  • Working with peers to translate that into near-term activities and insight structuring
  • Deep thinking around process and data flows (transforming not just the insights themselves, but how the insights we produce are powered, structured, and developed)
  • Bringing broader business context and strategy to the team
  • Strategizer – helping us ship relevant and on-strategy work
  • Helping to develop standing resources, templates, and data/process pipelines to accelerate insights generation and improve data and user-experience consistency
  • Advisor, Critic, & Polisher – helping us ship elevated work
  • Giving considered and constructive feedback to peer work, and work from other business units

  • Digging “beyond the ask” to unearth deeper needs and motivators, discerning the difference between good ideas, good ideas ahead of their time, and finding great ideas nested inside of bad ones
  • Not everything is doable. Working with colleagues and stakeholders from across the business, you’ll work together to find solutions and make smart compromises that move things forward. (“No, but…”)
  • Collaborative Negotiator
  • Sometimes you’ll need to pivot. While often planning farther out, there will be times when you’ll have to work quickly on more immediate response or remediation efforts. You will need to be able to discern what requires more immediate action, triaging and sidelining less time sensitive priorities, with exceptional stakeholder management and communication
  • Lead Storyteller
  • Great ideas only become great solutions when your partners clearly understand – and can get excited about – the opportunity
  • Bringing team insights and resources to the appropriate forums/teams, teaching the how/what/why/why-it-matters of what we’ve learned and built
