The Corporate Sales Manager is deployed to attract business from the business and individual and group travel markets to Hotel Arts and Hotel Arts Kensington. An experienced sales professional will leverage their contacts, initiate sales activities, and communicate with clients to exceed sales targets.
- Uses her experience and knowledge productively in the fulfillment of her duties and responsibilities.
- Be knowledgeable about industry, competitors, and other opportunities with respect to selling groups.
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of the scope of her duties and responsibilities by completing all with precision and in a timely fashion.
- Develops relationships with colleagues in other departments in the hotel that results in a credible understanding of client needs.
- Develops professional relationships with colleagues that foster achievement of team sales goals.
- Develops professional relationships with clients based on their trust and respect of her ability to identify their needs and meet them in context of a sales contract.
- Contributing constructively to reflections on the work unit.
- Collaborates with colleagues in order to achieve sales team outcomes.
- Completing her responsibilities as framed by the work unit plan.
- Contributes to achievement of sales team goals by assisting colleagues in their work.
- Making meaningful suggestions for the implementation of the work unit plan.

- Develops efficient and effective processes to achieve sales team goals.
- Group Resumes are comprehensive and 100% accurate.
- Material produced to be sent to clients reflects great attention to detail.
- Marketing packages sent to prospective clients result in group sales.
- Follows through meticulously on promises made to clients.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the importance of clients as reflected by her service to them.
- Service to clients is timely.
- Approaches challenges creatively by generating unique perspectives and solutions.
- Marketing packages developed for prospective clients garner attention due to their creativity.
- Generates creative ways to adapt sales department systems and procedures to best meet the needs of clients and ensure continued business with them.
- Solicitation & Retention of Accounts
- SWOT analysis of relevant market segments.
- Action Plan that incorporates a minimum of one sales trip outside Calgary twice per annum to a feeder market to cultivate new business.
- Corporate Accounts
- Reporting
- Action Plan that includes monthly sales calls within Calgary to key and prospective accounts.
- Up-to-date summary for corporate accounts (i.e. current rates, special considerations, annual production, key contact, rates at competition) and current year’s objectives per account.
- YOY growth in room night production & ADR for top 20 corporate accounts.
- Action Plan outlining quarterly strategies to reach objectives in Sales & Marketing Strategic Plan including tactics for soliciting new accounts and retention of existing ones.
- Accurate and up-to-date market information about corporate accounts at competitor hotels.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual reports that document progress in reaching Sales Objectives.
- Employee Growth Plan
- Achievement of Production Quotas in the Corporate Travel Markets
- Sales Trip Reports and Corporate Visit Reports to provide clearly outlined objectives and action plans for follow-ups.
