Corporate Finance Analyst Jobs

We are seeking a Corporate Finance Analyst to join our team in Toronto.

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Finance & Investor Relations, the Corporate Finance Analyst is an integral part of the Financial Planning and Reporting team, whose primary responsibility is to ensure that the company’s internal budgeting and reporting requirements are fulfilled accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will work closely with the tax, operations, treasury, and finance teams from each division.

The Corporate Finance Analyst will:

• Be at the forefront of various business strategy and growth initiatives as a key member of a small, multi-discipline (tax, M&A, finance) corporate office;

RESPONSIBILITIES

Budgeting / FP&A

• Monthly reconciliation of interest model identifying and explaining key variances;
• Initial consolidation and roll-up of budgets;
• Ongoing documentation, administration and maintenance of Hyperion Planning application;
• Development and assistance of internal interest, tax, and share-based compensation models;
• Assisting with scenario modelling and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
• Coordination and communication of quarterly budget updates and 5-year internal strategic planning process;

Other Activities

• Assisting the external reporting team with periodic reporting requirements such as the annual impairment analysis;
• Validating and / or updating M&A models for potential acquisitions;
• Support the C-suite with Board presentations and materials;
• Updating IR presentations and fact sheets used on investor calls.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Experience with Hyperion Planning application is an asset.
• Experience in corporate budgeting or basic financial reporting activities preferable;
• Advanced understanding of excel and exposure to financial modeling;
• A professional accounting designation (CPA with accounting firm experience preferred)
• Strong planning abilities and critical thinking skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and organizational abilities;
• Undergraduate degree or MBA;
• Developed interpersonal skills and organizational abilities;
• Experience and understanding of financial modelling;
