Corporate Controller / Director, Financial Reporting

Robert Half is working with one of Vancouver’s unique mid-tier resource companies to assist in identifying a new Corporate Controller / Director, Financial Reporting to join the team. This multi-national gold producer has been operating for well over 30 years and has a strong reputation for high technical, environmental, and social standards. The organization’s exploration, development, and operating experience has created a significant pipeline of organic growth opportunities on top of the solid foundation provided by their established operating assets.

Reporting to the VP Finance, the Director, Financial Reporting will hold responsibility for:

• Design, implement, manage and modify compliance requirements and controls as needed
• Manage the financial reporting of subsidiaries to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Coordinate the audit process with the external auditors
• Lead, manage, coach, and guide the accounting team with a commitment to high-performance and professional development
• Research accounting and regulatory guidance and prepare technical memos as needed
• Prepare management, board, and stakeholder reporting as needed and required
• The preparation and submission of timely and accurate quarterly and annual consolidated financial reporting in accordance with IFRS

Requirements

As the ideal candidate you bring a can-do attitude, an understanding of the accounting nuances and needs of a TSX listed gold-producer, and the desire to join a senior leadership team. Additionally, you are:

• A CPA / CA with a foundation from public practice coupled with resource industry experience
• Excited to join a growing business
• Engaging, inspiring, and motivating as a leader, coach, and guide to your team
• Ideally experienced with the specific needs of a gold-producing company
• Able to present technical accounting needs in a way that is relatable and understandable
• A strong communicator, both written and verbally
