Job Description
SAIT’s Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Studies focuses on the non-credit programming for the individual learner. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with career at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.


The Opportunity


Reporting to the Manager, Talent Services and Community Engagement, the Community Engagement and Events Coordinator will be a key advocate for SAIT's Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) digital programs. This role is responsible for building key partnerships that will be key to promote, advocate and enable career success for CEPS’ digital programs. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building relationships with various key community partners to create and implement outreach programs that will result in increased engagement and participation in SAIT's programs and communities of purpose. The ideal candidate is creative, innovative, and passionate about building relationships and connections with community and industry members, opening doors for co-creation and collaboration on programming and impact.

The Role


Community Engagement – Relationship Building


  • Identify and establish partnership with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to promote Continuing Education’s programs and events
  • Working with Community Partners to create events and collaboration opportunities that bring digital awareness and networking opportunities for digital students and alumni
  • Recording key partnerships, activities and interactions in SAIT’s CRM
  • Source capstone projects and bring awareness of Continuing Education’s digital offering to industry
  • Develop and implement community outreach programs to increase awareness and advocacy of SAIT’s Continuing Education’s Digital programs


Event Coordination


  • Experience with data collection and analysis to measure the effectiveness of community engagement initiatives.
  • Manage online communications and promote community engagement activities using social media and other online communication
  • Working with internal stakeholders to coordinate event planning
  • Develop, organize, and coordinate events with community and industry partners


Advocacy


  • Providing community feedback to product strategists and SAIT leadership on new product and services, and opportunities to collaborate with the ecosystem
  • Identify and coordinate the development of marketing and communication material to promote community engagement.(handouts, digital marketing, LinkedIn and other social media posts)
  • Presentations including promoting Digital programs with community partners, attending job fairs, participating in information sessions
  • Supporting and contributing to product launch strategies


Qualifications


  • Diploma or degree in business, events management, marketing or related
  • 3-5 years of work experience, in community engagement, marketing, communications, event planning or related field
