Who You Are
This is a new position for the organization and the person in this role has an opportunity to shape processes with executing our marketing and communications to ensure that we achieve our ambitious goals for a provincial expansion of the MAN VAN. This person will need to have strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills, takes initiative and is an exceptional project manager with a high attention to detail and accuracy. The candidate will also be flexible and be willing to bring creative solutions as we navigate through the challenges of growth and evolution of the organization
About the opportunity
The person in this position will be creating the strategies for new and existing markets and executing the marketing and communications for the MAN VAN team as we expand our operations across the province. They will be comfortable using different types of media- print, radio, social, personal presentations, etc. – and understanding what is best suited for different environment. As we enter new markets, the person in this role will also foster community leaders, partners, stakeholders, and local businesses to raise awareness and encourage participation in the MAN VAN clinics. Simultaneously, the person in this role will ensure that our PCC brand and communications are consistent with the overall goals of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices to improve marketing strategies.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns to increase awareness and visibility of our mobile health units, the MAN VAN™ while staying within the allocated timelines and budget.
- Participate in team building and fundraising events
- Completes general office duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and insights necessary for creating effective marketing materials and campaigns.
- Organize and coordinate community events, health fairs, and outreach programs to educate and engage the target audience.
- Actively collaborates with the Manager of Development & Communications and internal team on the fundraising and marketing strategy.
- Work with Fund Development team to support communication activities and account management with donor and sponsorship reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams, to align marketing efforts with the overall objectives of the PCC.
- Attendance in the various communities to is expected when required.
- Collaborate with the social media specialist to generate engagement and grow the clinic's online community especially in new communities.
- Foster relationships with community leaders, partners, stakeholders, organizations, and local businesses to raise awareness and encourage participation and support for the MAN VAN™ and the Prostate Cancer Centre, across the province of Alberta.
- Annually attend a RAC 2 information session
- Contribute content for newsletters and other external communications.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, copywriters, and other external vendors to ensure the production of high-quality marketing materials.
- Monitor marketing metrics and provide regular reports on program effectiveness and community engagement and recommend process changes if required
- Performs other duties, as required.
- Prepare detailed marketing activity reports and evaluate (website analytics, earned media, etc) with regards to the MAN VAN™ program.
- Develop a business strategy that supports, enables, and tracks expansion goals with key performance indicators.
- Understands PCC, the non-profit sector, and brand management.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in a non-profit setting is considered an asset
- Five (5) to Ten (10) years’ experience in marketing, community engagement or a similar role with a background of executing different forms of media, including social media, traditional advertising and digital marketing.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
- Effective problem solver with initiative to be innovative and creative with solutions.
- Must possess the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Superior organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deliverables in a time-sensitive environment and adapt to frequently changing priorities.
- A high level of attention to detail is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and clarify concerns and concepts to various audiences.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and with Adobe suite of graphics programs along with other relevant marketing tools and platforms to keep campaign material up to date.
Working Conditions:
- Able to work in a dynamic fluid environment.
- Open office environment shared with other staff members.
- Travel to offsite locations throughout the province will be required.
