Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to accelerate its fast-growing Canadian presence. This role will be focused on bringing in new business opportunities and expanding on existing client relationships and new services lines.

Triton’s multi-disciplinary team comprises environmental professionals specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, soil science, vegetation ecology, environmental assessment, environmental auditing, environmental monitoring/inspection, and resource management. Triton has offices in Vancouver, Vernon, Kamloops, Prince George, Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, and Saskatoon, and is now expanding to Guelph and Halifax.

The successful candidate will be responsible for seeking out and establishing business opportunities, managing, and strengthening existing client relationships and making recommendations for new initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Review proposals prior to submission and ensure satisfaction of clients post delivery
• Generating new business opportunities in support of the Director of Business Development
• Regularly identify and submit issues/concerns or opportunities for improvement to the sales and marketing and operations teams
• Identify, recommend, and develop procedures for the company
• Monitor the success of Business Development efforts
• Working collaboratively within Triton corporate culture
• Provide input into annual budgeting
• Provide mentorship and training to Project Managers and ensure company expectations for sales are being met
• Liaise with existing and prospective clients, including responding to requests for information, quotes and proposals and attending meetings to discuss and develop new opportunities.

Skills And Qualifications

• Ability to anticipate problems before they arise
• Business/Management courses, diploma or degree would be considered an asset
• Degree or diploma in a related field (environmental science, biology, agrology, ecology)
• 5+ years of experience in environmental, consulting fields and/or relevant industry experience
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experience in sales and business development
• Comprehensive network of Industry and government contacts
• Ability to work in a team setting
• Strong leadership skills (mentoring, coaching, leading)
• Experience in budgeting and cost controls and relevant software
• Strong understanding of budget and revenue tracking
• Ability to prepare and make comprehensive presentations, participate in formal debate, and communicate professionally before an audience
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
