Business Analyst (Storage) Jobs

The Business Analyst will perform a Requirements Analysis for our client’s Digital Forensic Section (DFS) electronic storage. The Business Analyst will then use this analysis to explore and cost potential solutions.

This is for their digital forensics team - they're looking to refresh their storage and need some help figuring out where they're at.

Scope Work Package

The following items are in scope for this project:

➢ Perform a current state analysis of

o Existing storage solution

o Existing data size

➢ Review existing documentation

➢ Identify stakeholders for interviews. At a minimum stakeholders will include personnel from

o ITS Infrastructure

o DFS

o Records management

➢ Interview stakeholders to identify requirements

➢ Requirements will include

o Legal Retention obligations

▪ How long

▪ Can old data be archived to offline storage (tape?)

o Data durability

▪ Single instance?

▪ Replication to Mirrored site?

▪ Snapshots?

▪ Backups?

● RTO and RPO

o Data Availability requirements

▪ Does all data need to be kept on-line?

▪ Can old data be archived?

▪ Is near line storage viable?

● Tiered to LTO tape or S3 target?

● Other options?

▪ Is cloud storage an option? (doubtful due to content but explore?)
