In this role, you will:


  • Where applicable, develop the reports within the existing Data Warehouse and ERP.
  • Capture specified document user requirements, gathering report objectives, required data and specifications.
  • Carry out data validation with the Applications Manager to ensure reports are pulling all correct data accurately and achieving customer needs.
  • Develop reports and extract from multiple data sources.
  • Other duties as directed.
  • Model various complex data sources using the Kimball methodology.
  • Develop and maintain the Babcock Data Warehouse. Includes but not limited to SSMS, SSAS and SSIS solutions.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of management reports and/or developing the views those reports are based on using Crystal Reports, SSRS, Power BI and QlikView reporting applications.
  • Provides analytical and technical support for complex requests, projects, or initiatives.
  • Provide data as a service to end users via the Data Warehouse.
  • Work with the business to ensure appropriate governance is applied and adhered to in accordance with IT best practices.
  • Extract data and run reports from an existing library and create new reports/ modify existing reports as appropriate.


The ideal candidate brings:


  • Experience with problem and issue resolution preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in terms clearly understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of Data Warehouse technology - SSMS, SSIS, SSAS.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with Windows Server technologies.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed and independent thinking as well as an effective team player.
  • Proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, meaning that you must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Government of Canada with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date as well as any COVID boosters recommended by public health authorities
  • Experience working in a large-scale organization with ERP systems desired.
  • Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives in a rapidly changing environment, while delivering quality service.
  • Thorough understanding of the Kimball data modelling methodology.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong collaboration and consulting skills, committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user needs in a prompt, courteous manner.
  • You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance
  • Technical and/or business experience with demonstrable professional growth.
  • Technical writing skills with experience in gathering and documenting user requirements and the ability to produce documents ranging from specifications to user manuals.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience including experience with data repository design and maintenance and database administration and complex reporting analysis.
  • Minimum of 3 years of working in report writing using SQL, Crystal XI, Power BI, SSRS, Business Intelligence or other reporting tools. QlikView experience preferable.
  • Good knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation computer programs, preferably Microsoft.
