POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is not a 100% remote work role.
You MUST have a proven track record with Group Benefits Industry business development, to be considered for this role.
The Manager, Broker Relations primary responsibility will be for the business development and account management of group benefits Insurance business from brokers and other partners who introduces new member clients to Beneplan. S/he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the company. S/he also leads the broker sales initiative/team as the business grows and is expected to offer hands-on coaching and training on daily basis, as applicable. Key deliverable in role is to increase revenue from broker channel.
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing organization and be an integral part in the company's business evolution. The Manager, Broker Relations will also have to assess the competitive landscape, identify risks, and ensure the company is well positioned to address these risks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage relationships with insurance companies, and as well online requests for quotation, Understand the balance between leverage and positive relations
- Increase revenue from broker channel by developing and executing outreach strategy for targeted broker firms, book introductory meetings with brokers to build a clientele list.
- Responsibility for growth of the business through Brokerage distribution channels and via Public Relations. Work with and leverage existing Beneplan business development team to explore all broker relationships.
- Ensure that all potential leads are followed up with by appropriate Beneplan team member as necessary.
- Own broker led deals through the sales cycle from introduction to membership agreement execution.
- Provide support for Broker related PR, marketing, and design initiatives as-needed, Network with key contacts within related industry to expand contact base.
- Manage benchmarking process, create client and prospect reports to show results
- Stay current on broker business KPI’s (Monthly and quarterly revenue and profit data; Number of new groups and terminations; New growth initiatives etc.) & report/analyze comment on performance and progress to Sr. leaders or board of shareholders as needed.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings including presentations, broker engagements and events to advocate Beneplan’s product offerings and services.
- Be prepared to analyze and comment as needed, on Highs & Lows for business period cycles, learnings, derived strategy etc. have data available for internal guidance/providing information to internal stakeholders as needed.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- G Driver’s license and excellent driving record
- A desire to continuously learn and improve one’s own abilities. Technical and social media savvy – comfortable adapting to new technologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of 5 years operating with an LLQP license.
- Minimum of 5 years managing relationships with people, and internal/external stakeholders, and leading teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including proven leadership skills and ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; political acuity and sound judgement while exercising tact and discretion.
- Demonstrated excellence in managing, leading motivating and engaging staff in a supportive, collaborative & collegial manner, preferably in a small business or entrepreneurial environment.
- Exceptionally strict moral compass and highest standard of integrity and honesty - Extremely professional, strong work ethic, and polished approach to all relationships
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with ability to thrive under pressure and stress, with ability to work with all personalities - Extremely positive outlook on life and pleasant demeanor
BUSINESS TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Most travel within Ontario will be the GTA, Hamilton and Windsor, per role fulfillment.
- Regular travel within the GTA based on role requirements and to fulfill role expectations, travel within Ontario is approx. monthly, and outside the province every quarter on average.
- It is expected that some Canadian travel may be required based on business needs and depending upon the time of year.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with Experience
