Position Summary


The Assistant Trade Marketing Manager assists the Senior Trade Marketing Managers in driving the category and shaping segment and brand strategy by channel through the integration of marketing and sales strategies to commercialize generating demand initiatives.


A day in the life of an Assistant Trade Marketing Manager


As an Assistant Trade Marketing Manager, you will:


  • Manage the New Item Sales Sample process and quantities with the sales and marketing teams for all innovation
  • Assist with distribution build assumptions and track new item performance
  • Monitor portfolio in-market performance and target delivery, assisting in identifying gaps and working cross-functionally on gap close solutions
  • Manage communication through the internal website and maintain all assets regarding Trade areas on the site.
  • Analyze programs and activities to evaluate the impact on the business
  • Assist the Senior Trade Marketing Managers in partnering with brand marketing and sales teams to assist in shaping segment and brand strategy by channel for the category
  • Lead in the development and maintenance of scorecards for key strategies as they move into execution
  • Assist with the development of new item presentations, as well as category and brand stories
  • Track and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) – i.e. New Item Distribution, Pricing, & Promotion
  • Assist the Senior Trade Marketing Managers in the development of segment and brand 4P strategies by channel aligned to shopper drivers
  • Leverage market trends to identify key data insights for the Trade Marketing Team - i.e. extract/interpret Nielsen/Homescan data and simplification of data to be published
  • Support the Trade Marketing team in advancing the development and deployment of key initiatives with analytics and project management
  • Be accountable for publishing key team communications and strategies on internal website on time, in full
  • Lead the analytics and development of new item post evaluations


What will make you successful?


As the successful candidate, you will be a self-starter and have excellent interpersonal skills coupled with experience working cross-functionally with sales and marketing. You will have proven problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to gain insights and develop recommendations. You will need to be results focused, detail oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment managing several complex priorities with strict deadlines.


  • 1-2 years experience in Sales, Marketing or Trade Marketing
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Critical thinker with the ability to think through problems and bring forward recommendations
  • Completion of a University in Business Administration with a focus on sales and marketing.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Advanced Microsoft applications skills including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to synthesize data, derive relevant insights, and craft compelling presentations
  • Excellent project management and facilitation abilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Nielsen Analytics and Springboard.
