Job Description
Please note this role will work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working in one of our site offices across Canada, with a mixture of on and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement is subject to change, based on operational needs.

About The Role


Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic Donor Strategy & Planning team.


Reporting to the Product Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the marketing requirements and for executing corporate strategy. You will also be responsible for developing creative programs, plans, content and services that supports the execution of Canadian Blood Services’ business goals as well as becoming a brand ambassador for the organization. You will provide strategic advice on the development of approaches and tactical plans to deliver on marketing objectives, incorporating various platforms/channels, advises leadership on marketing issues and leads the development of the marketing strategy, while ensuring accuracy and consistency of messages across the organization.


Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Builds effective working relationships within the organization and promotes ability and flexibility within the marketing team by easily stepping into other roles as required.
  • Accountable for promoting programs and services and for protecting Canadian Blood Services’ corporate reputation, helping create a favourable environment with internal and external audiences.
  • Supports the successful execution of key aspects of Canadian Blood Services’ transformation journey that enables enhanced alignment and understanding of the key changes we are implementing.
  • Provides advice on the development and execution of approaches and tactics to deliver objectives of marketing plans.
  • Develops and implements marketing strategies, tactics and content that contributes to the execution of Canadian Blood Services’ business goals and corporate strategy.


Qualifications:


Education, Training and Experience:


  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution is essential, preferably in Marketing.
  • 2-4 years of experience in marketing, market segmentation, business, advertising or communication.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.


Demonstrated Competencies, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Provides consultation and acts as a resource for local marketing and public relations initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of marketing plans and analyzing and reporting on outcomes.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal customers and effectively interfaces with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and create content that is relevant, engaging and clear to target audiences
  • Working and collaborating effectively with colleagues from different departments and backgrounds.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with vendors, clients, senior leaders.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing creative and effective campaigns/initiatives.
