Assistant Controller - Accounting & Reporting

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Controller, Accounting & Treasury, the Assistant Controller, Accounting & Reporting is responsible for providing high level assistance to the Controller, and for providing leadership and coaching to the financial reporting and accounting staff, including the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff, to ensure accurate accounting and effective financial reporting. This position will lead the preparation for the annual external audit process and the preparation of the annual report. The incumbent will provide technical support to interdepartmental committees and work teams as a representative of the Finance department and will support the Controller in the enhancement of customer service to internal customers in the organization and policy development and implementation. The incumbent will also oversee the creation of the work plan for the financial reporting work unit of the Finance department. There will be cross-training between this role and the roles of Assistant Controller - Budget and Planning and Assistant Controller - Treasury.
