We’re looking for our next Accountant . Could it Be You?

The purpose of theAccountantis to provide support to the Finance department in managing Questrade’s financial and management accounting records.

What’s it like working as an Accountant at Questrade?

The Accountant will be supporting financial & management reporting, budgeting and forecasting functions as well as assuming general bookkeeping, accounting responsibilities at Questrade.

This will be an 18-month contract position.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assisting in annual audit and budgeting process.
• Participating in various finance projects and other ad-hoc projects within the Finance team
• Performing bank reconciliations.
• Preparing monthly payments (companies, vendor bills) and booking the corresponding journal entries in the accounting system.
• Assisting with tax and regulatory filings.
• Liaising with cross-functional teams to prepare monthly reconciliations and bookings.
• Preparing daily bank reconciliations for review.
• Supervising the assistant.
• Coordinating with vendors regarding AP questions, responding to payment inquiries.
• Documenting accounting procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Assisting in month end closing, preparing month end journal entries for accruals and fee rebates.

• Have excellent Excel skills
• Have excellent communication skills and comfortable interacting with all levels of leadership, both verbally and in writing
• Have demonstrated strong ownership and analytical skills
• Have 2-5 years of related work experience
• Are enrollment in a CPA program
• Take initiative with a curious mind-set
• Have strong time management and organizational skills
• Hold a Post-secondary degree / diploma in a related field

Additional Kudos If You Have…

• Knowledge of IFRS
• Knowledge of PowerBroker
• Experience in the insurance industry
