Gis Engineer Jobs

Work with a talented team of digital services professionals to solve data management challenges across various environmental and engineering disciplines

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including GIS, Environmental Data Management, IT, and consulting professionals

Provide expert operational support to our people and clients regarding spatial data management, geodatabases, and GIS

Proficient in the data management lifecycle, relational databases, and extract-transform-load (ETL) concepts

Help our clients manage their projects by developing web mapping applications

Oversee and manage Matrix's ArcGIS spatial data infrastructure

Desired Technical Skills & Experience:

* Excellent working knowledge of ESRI software (ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise) and other related GIS/GPS platforms.

* Advanced working knowledge of data transformation software (i.e. FME).

* Experience with relational database systems (specifically SQL Server).

* Experience working with AutoCAD files.

* Working knowledge of 3D surface modeling and 3D visualization concepts.

Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work independently or within project teams of various sizes

Minimum one year with ArcGIS experience and hands-on experience with geospatial analysis and applied GIS-based tools

Interpret and map human footprint from satellite imagery and GIS layers

Ability to investigate and apply emerging GIS-based approaches to improve the work quality and solutions

Coordinate and undertake quality assurance and quality control on work prior to passing it on as required

Summarize and export GIS information as required for analyses and distributing output information

For SAP: Business experience in accounting, human resources, payroll, maintenance management, procurement, materials management or sales distribution

Knowledge of, and experience with, ESRI software and emerging GIS technologies is desirable

Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.

System methodologies including requirements definition, functional design, implementation

Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing

ERP or Enterprise GIS application and configuration tools

Work with the Project Managers and CAD Team Leads to organize, prioritize, and coordinate project workload.

Self-check assignments prior to maps being sent to the Project Manager for final approval.

Ensure maps meet client requirements, timelines, and deliverables.

Assist National Production Manager with identifying staff needs as required.

Minimum of 5 years experience in a production environment is required.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities is required.

Knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), including executing

Experience writing SQL scripts for database management and data extraction.

Coordinate with team members to ensure data management and spatial analysis needs are being met to support project implementation.

Develop and improve automated processes through specialized GIS software to efficiently manage spatial data and foster repeatable and reliable spatial analyses

University degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, or Geomatics Engineering

Considerable knowledge, as related to work assignments, of GIS terminology, CAD terminology, GIS and CAD software, POSSE an asset

Considerable knowledge of departmental, civic and government policies and regulations affecting work assigned

Considerable skill in preparing and reviewing project specifications and making recommendations

Manage and maintain system files and data to the required standards.

Diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology, GIS Technology, or equivalent related courses and experience, from a recognized technical institute.

Knowledge of industry standards and procedures.

Familiarity with the project process and the ability to effectively manage information from various sources.

Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills along with the ability to express thoughts clearly both verbally and in writing.

Update data in GIS on as-built documents, engineering drawings and information submitted by various internal and external groups.

Support the finance, business development and marketing teams in portfolio tracking and marketing

Experience in GIS Analyst and/or Geoscience Technologist roles

Strong Microsoft office and advanced Excel skills

Experience with some or all of PostgreSQL, LucidLink, Prism (Enverus) AWS, SKUA GOCAD, Geolog, SeisEarth, EPOS, GeoGraphix, QGIS, ARCGIS

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities, functional backgrounds, and senior level staff

Be able to work both in person and remote

Experience in GIS based web application development using .NET, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap

Strong working experience in developing applications using ArcGIS JavaScript 4.x, ArcGIS Runtime Xamarin, Python (Arcpy)

Strong working experience in developing Oracle Packages / Procedures / functions & PLSQL

7-10 year of experience in Esri Technologies

Experience with the ArcGIS Utility Network Management Extension

Design and maintain spatial data layers, including data acquisition, processing, metadata management and quality control for delivery

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in GIS data analysis

Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI

Experience with web mapping technologies (e.g. Leaflet, OpenLayers) is a plus

Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. FME, Python, R) is a plus

Educational and Industry experience requirements include; Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of Civil Construction practice

3-5 years of experience and knowledge with developing GIS and maintaining 3D GIS data with ESRI products

Mandatory 1-2 years of experience and knowledge with developing FME workbenches

Proven analytical and problem solving abilities; including experience creating analytical based reports

Advance knowledge of ESRI tools including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise

Undergraduate, M.Sc. or equivalent work experience in GIS, Remote Sensing or Geomatics with a solid programming component.

Download, analyze and process remotely sensed data to produce usable products for clients.

Ability to work with remotely sensed data from a variety of sensors, such as optical, SAR and lidar.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Full-time remote position (Ontario/Quebec preferred) with occasional travel to company offices.
