The Opportunity
City of Grande Prairie GIS Department employees have the unique opportunity to work with a multitude of customers as all City departments and the public are our focus. As the GIS Analyst, reporting to the GIS Team Lead, you will be responsible to act as the Data Steward for the GIS Department. Maintaining spatial data, transforming data, and managing data requests for the organization and public using corporate spatial data.
Responsibilities
The GIS Analyst is responsible for providing GIS data management services, spatial analysis/transformation and GIS user training. The GIS Analyst is a project lead for data deliveries for GIS contractors, corporate GIS projects and GIS customers. The services provided including maintaining metadata and application documentation, GIS spatial analysis, with related information for GIS business applications and geomatics services. The GIS Analyst maintains the GIS data update infrastructure and provides technical assistance for the Geomatics Technologist and GIS Analyst / Developer applications.

You Bring
Your Ideal Qualifications For This Position Are

• Public speaking experience
• Previous experience with high performance teams
• Understanding of Theoretical and Applied GIS Sciences
• Project leadership and management skills
• Strong organization skills
• Post-secondary in GIS or Cartography, an undergraduate university degree in computer science, or related fields with a focus on GIS may be considered.
• A great sense of humor
• Experience with FME
• AutoCad Map 3D experience (CAD)
• Experience with GIS technologies, specifically ESRI products

Hours
8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday
Salary/Wage
Salary range is $42.39 - $54.79 / hour - E Band
