Aecon IDD department has an immediate need in the Toronto office for a Sr IDD GIS Specialist, who will foster GIS innovation within the company. This position will report to the IDD Manager, GIS & CDE and will work closely with all IDD staff and Aecon colleagues to provide GIS technical expertise to prospective clients, existing clients, and business partners.

What You’ll Do Here

• Work with GIS/CDE Manager to design and effectively employ 3D geospatial/BIM solutions on regulatory and permitting elements of infrastructure and transportation planning projects
• Perform other duties as needed
• Develop vector and raster spatial analysis models using Spatial ModelBuilder, Python or other GIS scripting languages
• Create FME scripts to automate workflows in FME desktop/server
• Create 3D maps, databases, and other deliverables for simultaneously ongoing bid/execution projects on short notice
• Site travel will be required 20% of the time within Ontario (mostly GTA)
• Create maps, databases and other deliverables on short notice
• Develop and support web GIS applications using Esri Web App Builder, Operations Dashboards, Story Maps, Collector, Survey 123 within ArcGIS Enterprise platform

What You Bring To The Team

• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Proven analytical and problem solving abilities; including experience creating analytical based reports
• Educational and Industry experience requirements include; Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of Civil Construction practice
• Experience with Autodesk software including BIM360, Civil 3D and Revit
• Experience with Microsoft Power automate and PowerApps
• Working experience scripting using SQL and Python
• Mandatory 1-2 years of experience and knowledge with developing FME workbenches
• 3-5 years of experience and knowledge with developing GIS and maintaining 3D GIS data with ESRI products
• Advance knowledge of ESRI tools including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise
• Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
