Sr. Automation Specialist (Devsecops)

TELUS Health is seeking an experienced Sr. Automation Specialist to join our Technology Enablement team. Applying technology strategically to improve business results and increase business value benefits TELUS Health and its customers. The Sr. Automation Specialist will lead the automation efforts to improve overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in leveraging automation best practices to manage applications and processes with cloud-based infrastructure with Infrastructure/Policy/Security as Code approach.
Responsibilities

• Managing database upgrades, migrations, and data recovery processes.
• Providing continuous support for system users.
• Creating procedures for application deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Create scripts, tools, and procedures for operations, including the design and implementation of automation capability.
• Manage configuration and credentials for test and production environments.
• Provide automation support for integration testing, security scanning, system tests, and performance testing.

Qualifications

• Experience creating and managing Azure pipelines and GitHub Action workflow for Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
• Proficiency with PowerShell or other scripting languages to automate routine tasks and build custom tools for Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
• Experience designing and implementing continuous delivery pipelines for customized applications.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Ability to script in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate routine tasks and build custom tools.
• Knowledge of continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
• Experience integrating Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions with other third-party tools and services such as GitHub, and Slack.
• Understanding infrastructure-as-code (IaC) concepts and tools such as Terraform, Packer.
• Understanding Infrastructure-as-Code (IAC) and experience working with Ansible, Terraform and Packer.
• Understanding version control systems like Git and related concepts such as branching and merging strategies.
• Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management tools and strategies.
• Experience managing applications using cloud-based infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Ability to work with relational and non-relational databases such as MS-SQL, MongoDB.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Datadog
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud platform and related services such as Azure DevOps, Azure Resource Manager, Azure Functions, and Azure Storage.
• Proven success in managing applications with OpenShift/OKD or Kubernetes.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services cloud platform and related services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, and S3.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Understanding of security principles and experience implementing security controls in a DevSecOps environment.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies and experience working with Agile tools such as Azure Boards, and Jira / Confluence.
• Familiarity with Datadog for monitoring and logging as well as Observability.
• Record of excellence as a DevSecOps Automation Specialist supporting the continuous delivery of custom-built solutions.
• Ability to configure and maintain DevOps tools such as Azure Boards, Azure Repos, Jira, Confluence and GitHub.

Desirable Attributes

• Knowledge of Power Platform and Dynamics 365 administration.
• Familiarity with containerization and related technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies and related tools such as Jira, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and technologies such as TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, or load balancers.
• Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Packer, Selenium, and JMeter.
