Job Description
What You Will Do
Attention: Independant Contractors/ Consultants/ Freelancers
Upcoming geospatial consulting opportunity, supporting large scale GIS program in Greater Toronto and surrounding area, beginning in June 2023!
Purposed Working Relationship
Short-term/ Long-term contract
We push the boundaries of geospatial technology. Leveraging geospatial information with existing data points allows data to be visually mapped to identify patterns and opportunities. Our scalable approach goes far beyond maps and dashboards. We develop geospatial tools that give organizations deeper process insights and tools to improve efficiency and increase cost savings.
We are looking for a GIS Data Analyst responsible for updating spatial data layers, developing map products, updating metadata, preparing data for delivery, and providing training services.
Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain spatial data layers, including data acquisition, processing, metadata management and quality control for delivery
  • Work closely with stakeholders to provide training services
  • Develop map products and data visualizations using ESRI products, and Microsoft Power Platform
Education | Experience:
Minimum Requirements
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. FME, Python, R) is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of data quality and metadata standards
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or related field
  • Excellent data visualization skills
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in GIS data analysis
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Knowledge with GIS database management systems (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle) is a plus
  • Proficiency in a range of GIS products, processes, and principles (e.g. Esri ArcGIS)
  • Experience with web mapping technologies (e.g. Leaflet, OpenLayers) is a plus
