Job Description
Eavor Technologies Inc. is seeking a high performing, entrepreneurial GIS & Data Analyst for the Calgary office. Working within a multidisciplinary international team you will use your technical expertise, initiative, business acumen, and problem-solving skills to support the commercial implementation of the world’s first closed-loop geothermal system. The successful candidate will work on projects throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and there is ample potential for career growth in our rapidly expanding technology start-up.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Manager Geosciences in Eavor’s Central Business Unit, the GIS & Data Analyst is responsible for supporting an integrated team driving the global Resource Development for Eavor-Loop by managing geotechnical and GIS data.
Some Of What You Will Do
  • Develop tools and deploy relevant software packages to Eavor’s Geosciences staff
  • Calibrate and visualize live drilling parameters (ROP, bit runs, actual/planned surveys) to geological observations
  • Deploy region specific coordinate system transformations and harmonize multi vintage and multi-CRS data sets
  • Support the finance, business development and marketing teams in portfolio tracking and marketing
  • Build and maintain GIS, wellbore, petrophysical, seismic (2D/3D), grav/mag, MT databases
  • Be well versed in GIS data collection, manipulation, and projection in multiple coordinate reference systems.
  • Design Power BI dashboards for projects, technical analysis and cross discipline data plotting
  • Be highly proficient in GIS solution management and administer Eavor’s Geoscience cloud platforms, databases, networks and sharepoint drives for all business units
  • Develop/co-develop geo-technical applications and train business units on workflows and best practice uses
  • Aspentech software (SKUA GOCAD, Geolog, EPOS, SeisEarth), GIS software (QGIS, ARCGIS), COMSOL, Geoscout
Some Of What You Will Need
  • Be able to work both in person and remote
  • Experience in GIS Analyst and/or Geoscience Technologist roles
  • Display a high EQ with a proven track record of productive work in a high paced multi-national environment
  • Experience with some or all of PostgreSQL, LucidLink, Prism (Enverus) AWS, SKUA GOCAD, Geolog, SeisEarth, EPOS, GeoGraphix, QGIS, ARCGIS
  • Self-starter / proactive / creative thinker/ consistently delivers on time
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities, functional backgrounds, and senior level staff
  • Thrives in a high energy, fast paced work environment with multiple priorities
  • Occasional travel included
  • Either an accredited 1 or 2 year technical diploma or equivalency attained through a combination of individual industry courses and on the job training and work experience.
  • Takes accountability for their work, the work of their team and the success of the company
  • Strong Microsoft office and advanced Excel skills
