GIS Analyst

Hatch is currently looking for GIS Analysts who are ready to take their career to the next level. Our dynamic and flat structure provides our analysts with the freedom to apply their skills and interests on a wide variety of projects.

Qualifications And Experience

• Basic understanding of environmental and social impact assessment; environmental permitting and approvals and regulatory requirements in Ontario;
• 5 years of relevant experience;
• Knowledge of computer systems and software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite), graphics software and internet/intranet systems; and
• Knowledge of the design and production of geoscience and related thematic maps using raster, vector and GIS technologies, in order to produce, modify and clarify information on digital maps;
• Knowledge and experience working with ArcGIS 10.X and ESRI suite of GIS software;
• Post-secondary education in environmental engineering, environmental science or a related discipline;
• Experience with python, coding and AutoCAD, an asset.

The Role

• Perform data editing, digitizing, scanning, and conversion.
• The successful candidate must be highly motivated, willing to take on new challenges, able to work in a fast-paced environment and interested in assisting with environmental-related work, including field work.
• Apply ESRI concepts and spatial data.
• Other responsibilities to include:
• Assist team in creating basic aerial and mapping exhibits.
• Develop maps and other cartographic products.
• Apply GIS concepts and spatial data.
