This position will work closely with the Director of Finance, Plant/Production Managers, Warehouse Managers and Supply Chain.

Minimum five (5) years relevant costing experience in a manufacturing environment

5+ years of relevant experience in cost management, project controls, scheduling, or planning in the energy, construction, or infrastructure sector.

Conduct cost analysis and provide valuable insights to project teams and management for informed decision-making

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.

Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.

Contract Management (Time and Material Type):

Assist in the preparation of project cost reports and participate in cost control meetings.

Provide professional judgment and experience in business and program cost planning, cost estimating, cost control, and change management.

Certification related to Cost Engineering, such as CCEP (Certified Cost Engineer/Professional) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional), will be considered an asset.

Assist in the preparation for quarterly review by executive management.

Minimum four (4) year bachelor's degree from an accredited UK university in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Experience: At least 10 years' experience in construction cost engineering.

At least five years of experience in the cost control aspect of construction projects.

Minimum of Five (5) years of Cost Control experience in the engineering, construction, project management of Oil & Gas related projects

Superior working knowledge of SAP

Thorough knowledge of Engineering, Supply Chain, Fabrication and Construction processes as part of project execution

In early stages of projects, review and align Work Breakdown Structure to Cost Breakdown Structure; create Project Controls

Cost Control Plan; and finalize Spend Profile based on Class IV Estimate for TIC.

High attention to detail, accuracy and quality of information, and an ability to keep information organized

Offer input and recommendations for cost engineering requirements, including staffing, project controls, and analyzing scope, quantities, and cost data.

Proactively advise management of forecasted costs exceeding the approved budget.

Analyze contractors' cost reports and extract necessary data for management reporting.

Prepare and deliver monthly cost engineering information, along with additional ad-hoc reports as requested by Management.

Demonstrate broad, multi-discipline knowledge and experience in cost engineering for Oil and Gas projects.

Organize, monitor, and control project costs, aligning with contractual requirements, objectives, and Company procedures.

Championing effective cost management and earned value to achieve business results

Develop, implement and manage business processes and practices related to cost management and earned value management

 Experience with oil and gas construction projects

 PMP/ PMI-SP certification with PMI and/or PSP certification with AACE International considered assets

 Experience with either or both Primavera P6/EcoSys administration, configuration and implementation

Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is inputted into internal databases and shared.

Preparing Cost Management reports for all asset classes related to real estate throughout Canada

Knowledge of and experience using CostX is an asset

Validating post contract cost changes, where applicable referring major changes to line manager

Assist commission manager ensuring commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time

Experience working on establishing and tracking annual budgets, and providing those reports to the Controller

Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, Look Ups) and any ERP experience

Tracking project costs to budget and analyzing/ explain variances

Recording transactions, posting entries, preparing month-end close and internal financial reports

Review scope of work and evaluate requirements for pricing

Post-secondary education in construction or business related field

1-3 years proven experience as an estimator

Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills

Review blueprints and drawings in AutoCAD to accurately create detailed cost estimates and proposals for Park Model and Modular Homes

Validate proposals through comparison to similar projects, existing designs, and as-built data to ensure accuracy

Collect and analyze cost data of the Group's overseas projects as per the framework provided by the manager.
