Your new role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cost and Controls Specialist to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing project costs, ensuring effective progress measurement, and enhancing project scheduling and planning activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management and time and material type contracts, or significant expertise in project scheduling, planning, and progress measurement within the controls domain.
Cost Management:
- Assist in the preparation of project cost reports and participate in cost control meetings.
- Conduct cost analysis and provide valuable insights to project teams and management for informed decision-making
Contract Management (Time and Material Type):
- Work closely with procurement and contract teams to administer time and material type contracts effectively
- Ensure proper validation and verification of time and material invoices, equipment rates, and materials costs
Project Scheduling and Planning:
- Conduct critical path analysis and identify schedule risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software.
Progress Measurement and Reporting:
- Provide progress-related insights and recommendations for enhancing project execution efficiency.
- Generate regular progress reports and dashboards, highlighting key performance indicators and project metrics.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong understanding of time and material type contracts, cost control principles, and project scheduling methodologies.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in cost management, project controls, scheduling, or planning in the energy, construction, or infrastructure sector.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
