Job Description
Airswift is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Project Cost Control Analyst to join one of our Midstream Oil & Gas clients in Calgary, AB, on a 6-month contract with a huge possibility to be extended.


Responsibilities


  • Support financial audits by providing relevant cost data, documentation, and explanations as needed.
  • Track and report on project variances, providing insights on potential cost-saving measures or areas for improvement.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and cost control methodologies to continually improve the cost management function.
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate cost estimates and budgets for new and ongoing projects.
  • Evaluate project contracts and purchase orders to verify compliance with financial guidelines and negotiate favourable terms where possible.
  • Monitor and analyze project budgets, expenditures, and cost trends to ensure adherence to financial plans.
  • Generate detailed cost reports and presentations for project stakeholders, summarizing cost performance and highlighting key metrics.
  • Utilize cost control software and tools effectively to streamline cost management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate allocation and accounting of project expenses.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of cost control policies, procedures, and tools to improve project cost management.
  • Conduct regular cost forecasting and risk assessment to identify potential cost overruns and recommend appropriate corrective actions.


Qualifications


  • Proficiency in cost control software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Project and/or Cost Control analysis.
  • Problem-solving mindset and a proactive approach to identifying cost control opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and project budgeting processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Midstream Oil & Gas experience is highly desired.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and manipulate large datasets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.


Work Schedule


  • Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week.
