The opportunity
This position reports to the Manager – Operating and Capital Cost Accounting within the Canadian Natural Gas Pipeline (CNGP) Financial Services team, with working level supervision provided by the Team Lead – CNGP Financial Services (Cost Accounting).
As the successful candidate, you will work closely with business partners to deliver meaningful analysis on cost drivers, prepare monthly cost reports for senior leadership and serve as a primary point of contact for support on CGNP cost budgeting and forecasting processes.

What You’ll Do
  • Work closely with business unit to support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Collaborate with accounting teams and other departments to complete month-end accounting activities
  • Respond to audit queries and other requests for information
  • Deliver meaningful insight into cost drivers and variances
  • Other ad hoc projects and analysis as required
  • Compile cost data and information for settlement negotiations, tolls applications and regulatory reporting
  • Prepare monthly and budget/forecast reports for senior leadership
  • Assist with the maintenance of cost hierarchies in BPC and Power BI
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and implementing best practices
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting-related experience
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or working towards a designation may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities and minimal supervision
  • Strong analysis, reporting and communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail and drive for continuous improvement
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to efficiently manipulate large volumes of data
  • Proven team player, successful in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships
  • Experience working with SAP, BPC, Power BI and Power Automate
