COGS Accounting Management and Reporting

What are your skills and experience?

Manage SAP annual cost run process and as required for new products.

Troubleshoot costing and intercompany purchase issues that arise from daily operations while complying with IFRS for standard costing requirement.

Strong computer literacy with advanced level Excel skill (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and advanced formulas) are required.

Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI) coupled with SAP experience is an asset.

Collaboration with Program Management on Tool Program milestone dates for billing.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles (ASPE) is essential, and understanding of P&L Statements, Balance Sheets, Cashflows etc.

Knowledge of financial and costing systems and integration within ERP systems.

Knowledge of bills of materials.

Highly developed computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of Forecasting and Budget development.

Knowledge of project management methods and practices, administration principles, methods, and procedures

Assists in the creation of cost-flows, baselining of project costs and forecasts with support from Project Management Team

Reviews projects changes for cost impact and provide feedback to project management staff.

Must have solid understanding of core project control concepts (cost management, earned value management, cost accounting), AACE or PMI principles

Provide trainings, workshops and support team members as advised by leads/managers.

Perform other duties as required by the role and advised by PCL/Manager.

Support plant operations management by performing various financial analyses for all departments of the Cooperative, i.e. manufacturing, distribution, etc

Participate in the plant's inventory management activities

Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or other relevant discipline or other equivalent experience;

Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and computer skills

Proficiency in IT project management and numbers analysis (costs, performance indicators)

Participate in control and audit activities organized by the finance department and reinforce internal control measures

$65,000 to $75,000, depending oneducation and experience.

Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports for management as requested.

Ensure the project set up/structure supports the billing requirements, billing line set up as required.

Perform earned value measurements for the managed contracts per the PMO standards.

Facilitate weekly progress meetings with contractor rep. and Enbridge Construction Manager or Chief Inspector.

Analyze and maintain the project contract(s) forecast and control budget at the WBS level with primary responsibility for field-level controls.

Job Title: Management Control Analyst/Operations Accounting Analyst

· Communicates the appropriate information with site management & ensures the information is reliable and exhaustive.

· Produce regular management information and analyze results and discrepancies against the budget and Y-1.

· Participate in creating and implementing new management tools for the site. Propose improvements in analysis supports.

· Ensure the management rules are applied in the various departments in a smooth and consistent manner.

Depending on qualifications, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.

Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting-related experience

Strong analysis, reporting and communication skills

Advanced knowledge of Excel, with ability to efficiently manipulate large volumes of data

Experience working with SAP, BPC, Power BI and Power Automate

Prepare monthly and budget/forecast reports for senior leadership

Assist plant managers with any inquiries

3 years of costing experience in a manufacturing environment

Excellent knowledge of Windows software environment, Excel and Word

Reviews weekly actual costs, accruals and earned value to ensure accurate progress reporting.

Resolve any coding issues in source systems to ensure accurate reporting.

3-5 years of experience in a Finance role

Work directly with Managers for budgeting and annual planning

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science or in a related field

Ensure the processing of payment certification under construction contracts in compliance with the Provincial Lien Act

Knowledge of site safety issues – basics of fall protection

Visit construction sites with the Consultant on a monthly basis to review the contractor and subcontractor progress claims

Assist in the delivery of pre-development services to establish feasibility of the project and identify any risks

Bachelor degree business administration, accounting or finance

3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role

Experience in the retail industry is an asset

Experience with accounting systems such as Oracle / EBS, an asset

Excellent analytical and synthesis skills

Provides support for the General Manager, Credit Department, Finance, Operations, and Estimating teams.

Minimum 2 years Job Costing experience an asset

As applicable able to effectively work with JV and S/C construction partners in matters of cost and progress measurement.

A comprehensive understanding of Building systems and how they work in various types of buildings, and associated construction requirements

Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat

Knowledge of CostX, On-Screen Take-off, Timberline is an asset

Strong knowledge of method of measurement and quantity take-off – CIQS standard method of measurement, Elemental, Uniformat, Masterformat/Trade, etc.
