Position Summary

Reporting to Senior Manager, Finance, the Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing product and services cost-related functions within the organization, ensuring accurate cost calculations, analysis, and reporting. The Cost Accountant works closely with cross-functional teams to gather cost data, perform cost analysis and maintain cost records. The Cost Accountant will support in product and services pricing review and financial decision-making. Must possess a strong understanding of cost accounting principles, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal Cost Accountant is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Cost records management: Prepare cost-related financial reports and manage system updates.
• Sales Support: Support Sales in large proposals to determine appropriate costing and margins.
• Process improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within cost accounting and contribute to the implementation of best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather cost data, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide cost-related insights and recommendations.
• Data analysis: Utilize analytical tools and techniques to analyze cost data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for cost control and optimization.
• Cost tracking: Monitor and track costs throughout the lifecycle of our products and services and maintain detailed records for individual products that can be used to evaluate future pricing.
• Cost analysis: Conduct cost analysis, including the calculation of unit direct costs to determine overall product and services costs and assess cost efficiency.
• Product Management: Working closely with our Global Product Management team to define product and services pricing.

Qualifications

• Requires excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in SAP preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles.
• Proven experience in cost accounting or a similar role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and cost calculation methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
• Technology and IT industry experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
