Our expectations

The Accounting Analyst acts as an expert in his/her field. You may be called upon to work in any of the following specializations based on your skillset: costs and margins, inventory, etc. You will contribute to the preparation and reliability of financial data, reconcile balance sheets and analyses expenses and explains budget variances. In addition, as an Accounting Analyst, you will support the team in the preparation of management reports and analysis.

Your role

• Analyze and explain variances vs budget, last year, etc..
• Determine and calculate month end accruals
• Analyze and resolve inventory costing and margin anomalies
• Account for In-Transit inventory
• Document and establish accounting reserves and provisions for their area of responsibility
• Reconcile annual corporate store physical counts
• Work with FP&A, Store and DC operations, and logistics teams to explain variances
• Balance store and Distribution center inventories at month-end
• Responsible for Sales Return and Shrink reserves
• Supply Chain / Freights costs and accruals
• Obsolescence reserves, write-offs and related Product Lifecycle accounting
• Modify item average costs as required
• Post month end accounting journal entries
• Provide Support of Landed Cost and ELC vs ALC Analysis
• DC Cost allocation / capitalization to inventory
• Over/under true-up calculations and adjustments
• Reconcile Balance sheet accounts and ensure of their accuracy
• Resolve accounting issues with inventory movement from DC’s and stores

The Qualifications We Are Looking For

• We require all our head office associates to be proficient in French, spoken and written.

• Ability to establish priorities in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and multi-stakeholder collaboration skills
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
• Sense of initiative and rigor
• Bachelor degree business administration, accounting or finance
• Experience with accounting systems such as Oracle / EBS, an asset
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
• CPA designation, an asset
• Experience in the retail industry is an asset
• Mastering Excel, advanced level
