Act as a business partner to the ELDS Factory Controller in Monterrey. In charge of both ensuring the right cost accounting in the manufacturing plant and looking for optimizations of costs at material and production order level while keeping internal control and inventory management as a priority.

Your responsibilities
  • Internal Control. Document controls, processes and procedures related to manufacturing accounting and ensure SOX compliance.
  • Cost Accounting Expertise. Leader of cost accounting activities and provider of knowledge of cost accounting in the Local Factory with potential support to NAM factories in the near future.
  • Manufacturing Cost Accounting month end activities. Standard cost setting for fabrication, review of purchase price variance, review of production order variance, review of Labor, Material and Overhead absorption and inventory management (Raw Material, WIP, Semifinished goods and Finished goods).
  • Bill of Material/Production Order. Partner with Factory Controller, Engineering team and Production team to ensure the Bill of Material accuracy.
  • Inventory Management. Work with Factory Controller, Warehouse team and SCM team to monitor, track and improve the cycle count process and inventory accuracy.
  • Inventory Risk Management. Work closely and partner with Factory Controller, SCM team to evaluate, track and minimize risk related to inventory on hand and E&O.

  • Required Skills: ERP (SAP) FICO Model, ETO Knowledge, OFFICE.
  • Type of Experience: Manufacturing / Cost Accounting / Finance
  • Number of Years of Experience: 1 to 4 years experience.
  • Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related area.

The successful candidate will lead the execution of small and medium size Skid & E-House projects for the assigned Account and ensure that all related activities are performed in accordance with ABB policy, relevant regulations and standards, contractual agreements, quality standards, health, safety & environment requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments.
The successful candidate will support the local management with process improvement to continually increase the effectiveness of project execution for the specific portfolio. He-She will work with Supply Chain and Engineering to drive Quality and Continuous Improvement on the solutions of the portfolio.
The successful candidate will manage E-house and Skids type of projects for the assigned key account. This candidate may also be assigned to other Control Systems/Automation projects as required.
Your responsibilities
  • Supports Procurement and Logistics in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.
  • Coaches and provides feedback for project staff and takes ownership for own development by lifelong learning and gaining and/or maintain qualification credentials (Certification) as required for the specific role
  • Takes appropriate actions for successful future execution of the projects.
  • Leads the project team members to achieve project requirements, delivery of contractual deliverables and meeting the committed project result.
  • Works with proposals team to issue required quotations with alignment towards the Sales strategy and in coordination with the Sales Manager
  • Creates project HSE Plans as required per local policy and ensures that common HSE policies and reporting are implemented across the project with all stakeholders, including collaboration/consortium partners and sub-suppliers.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.
  • Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies as defined for the Local Division.
  • Is involved and closely interacts and collaborates with respective functions.
  • Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management in accordance with ABB Local Division policies and contractual agreements.
  • Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and acknowledgement by the customer, all in accordance with the contract.
  • Ensures compliance to relevant cyber security regulations, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Works with the tendering team on quotations to submit proposals to the customer in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that required procurement activities for services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers are performed by the assigned resources.
  • Self-Motivator and Challenges the team to drive on-time deliveries, innovation, and financial commitments
  • Ensures that the portfolio is managed consistently, based on best practices and ABB Policies.
  • Demonstrates unique actions/initiatives to support site safety and ensures consistent HSE performance.
  • Acts as the key execution contact for the customer and escalates any issues with urgency to Management
  • Leads the Stakeholders and the cross-functional project team
  • Provides sub supplier performance feedback regarding quality, price and on time delivery.
  • Focuses on delivering at or above target.
  • Provides leadership and active involvement in continuous improvement, simplification, and brings product improvement ideas to the Sales & Operations Manager
  • Takes ownership in overlooking and supporting in improving guidelines, tools, and templates.
  • Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization.
  • Financial performance of assigned projects.
  • Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Identifies, qualifies, quantifies, and manages project risks and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued.
  • Takes accountability for the PAEN Local Division Electrical Solutions portfolio for the assigned Customer.
  • Works with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Suppliers to identify product solutions and improvements.
  • Monitors and controls project financials, project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Establishes the project execution approach for the specific account, and oversees the project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
  • Captures, analyses, and shares lessons learned throughout the project.
Your background
  • Good understanding of project finances and contracts.
  • Experience with control systems software and control system hardware is a plus.
  • ABB Project Management designation (for internal applicants only), PMI certified.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university Or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma with passion for Project Management.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent business systems.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously.
  • Knowledge of electrical products and instrumentation, e.g. Power Distribution, Cables, VFD drives, MV/LV switchgear, protection relays, motor control centers, transformers, power distribution, flame scanners and boiler combustion gas analyzers.
  • Project related travel will be required depending on project assignments.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills – written and oral. Proficient in English and French.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Ability to positively influence people, building trust and credibility.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Experience in delivering projects in Canada.
  • Must be detail oriented both technically and commercially.
  • Minimum 4+ years of successful experience in Project Management, involving projects with electrical systems (preferably EHouses or skids), ideally in Oil & Gas, Power Generation or Water market segments in Canada.
