Responsible for creating the daily operational plan for processing in the Distribution Centre across main aspects of wave and personnel planning.

You will be initiating the daily processing workload and must develop an in-depth knowledge of the entire operation, with an emphasis on systems and people. This individual interfaces with all department Team Leaders, workers, and upper management.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Order Management

• Follow outlined process and daily checklists while build waves
• Each of those waves may require follow-up and feedback from Allocations and Operational Management
• Build separate waves which are not part of the main wave planning such as Dedicated, Distributors, POP, Apparel and online orders
• Work hands on with Corporate and DC management to accommodate any changes that may occur to the wave building process
• Communicate with appropriate departments when needed to resolve issues
• Optimize waves based on operational criteria, whilst maintaining routing rules and determining VAS requirements
• Assist in ensuring that all waves have been analytically and carefully built to meet the processing start time for pulls and picking flow
• Must assist with running all needed reports daily and for final release of work
• Identify issues/exceptions/shortages and follow up with Management, Logistics and Invento
• Prepare and present ticketing report and wave building recap for workload planning
• Research and calculate workflow balancing

Personnel Planning

• Continually develop and understand staffing tools to ensure full and correct usage
• Work with Supervisory team to plan personnel based on volume and requirements
• Other duties as assigned
• Adapt planning as and when business requirements change
• Translate the staffing needs per team

Qualifications

Job Requirements-

• System knowledge of Ortec, Commander, PKMS, would be an advantage.
• Good conceptual knowledge of relational database
• Experience working in a Distribution Centre would be advantageous.
• Must always work safe and professional
• Demonstrable experience in WMS, database query management (AS400 is preferred).
• Experience and understanding of operational processes and flows.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• PC, MS Office experience required
• Analysis, research and planning skills are essential.
• Onsite at the Distribution Centre
• Must possess organizational skills
• Detail oriented, highly organized and ability to work autonomously
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability and willingness to contribute hands on
• Must have the willingness and desire to learn
• Perform other general duties as required
• Must have a positive attitude as well as service oriented
• Ability to work as a team member
• Ability to follow the directives of management

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2+ year(s) experience in Warehousing, Processing; Production planning, Wave Building or equivalent
