We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Access Consultant at Perth Office CBD, Australia on a Permanent Full-Time basis.
About this role
As the Senior Access Consultant, you will be required to effectively lead and manage the “end to end” process from customer application through to project completion and reconciliation resulting in the applicant’s (generators or major loads) connection to the South West Interconnected Network. This job requires superior negotiation skills, balanced with strong commercial integrity, ensuring Western Power’s commercial and technical risks are managed in accordance with the requirements of the Electricity Network Access Code (Code) and the Applications Queuing Policy (AQP) with legal compliance throughout an entire project. The incumbent will Identify and successfully execute new unregulated revenue opportunities within the customer portfolio.
You will also be required to:
- Lead and execute the sales processes for new unregulated revenue opportunities within the customer portfolio.
- Apply a balanced approach to all issues affecting Access Solutions. Issues are generally complex and rarely have one solution for all situations. The incumbent must be able to think and act broadly across the issues faced
- Being responsible and accountable for the production and management of accurate capital budget requirements associated with access projects
- Ensure all systems are kept up to date and accurate as required to reflect project status, financial information and customer relationship.
- Production of concise and rigorous business cases to support customer applications.
- Identifying and evaluating, including via a risk management framework, the impacts of access contracts on Western Power’s operations
- Appropriate escalation of customer issues within the branch
- Ensure appropriate and robust commercial solutions for access applications which are conscious of risk implications
- Financial risk in customer applications appropriately mitigated
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and timely management of contracts relating to major customer transmission connections.
- Being accountable for shaping the corporate image of Western Power being safe, reliable and efficient for our access customers in terms of dependable service and innovative solutions during contract negotiations
About you
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Consultative selling within a sophisticated customer portfolio
- Good understanding of operating within a regulatory framework
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ is desirable but not essential.
- Superior communication skills, including written skills to construct high level business cases
- Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline
- Demonstrable experience in complex contract and financial negotiations in an infrastructure environment
- Project Management qualifications desirable, if not possessed must be willing to undertake study to gain qualification (PMBOK)
- A comprehensive and broad understanding of risk, commercial and compliance management
- Ability to make objective and balanced recommendations when dealing with competing demand.
- Strong ability to prioritise competing demands and manage expectations appropriately
- Extensive and broad understanding of project management frameworks
- Ability to build and maintain excellent internal and external relationships at a senior level
- High level negotiating skills
