ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Builds strong working relationships with Biocon Biologics home office personnel
- Deep knowledge of Canada Public and Private payers and their economic drivers. Understand flow of the dollar for all channels. Familiar with Public and Private negotiation process and contracting
- Manage strategic vendor relationships for Canadian business
- Demonstrate an understanding of CADTH, PMPRB, CDR, provincial health Authorities, Private Payers, Pharmacy and Distribution Stakeholders within Canadian Market
- Develop account relationships with key provinces and private payers
- Ensure profitable access for BBL portfolio aligned with Canada sales forecast
- Translate high-level strategic goals into local ricing strategies. Primary pricing subject matter expert to work with Portfolio and Sourcing on new product and supplier launches. Provide recommendations on List Price and Cost and establishing customer discounts for new and existing product lines
- Understand and manage contractual commitments
- Gather market insights and drivers to inform Field and Key Stakeholders views on pricing and access elasticity, competition and broader Canadian market factors to help support commercial strategy
- Review and approve all government price reporting calculations and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance to regulations
- Effectively represent Canada pricing and contracting opportunities at North American governance meetings
- Liaise with finance, sales, portfolio, sourcing, and other functional areas to identify and deploy operational best practices
Requirements:
- Hires and develops best in class talent aligned with company vision, mission and values
- Demonstrates high level of professional expertise within the functional discipline
- Successful working in both big pharma as well as small biotech start-up company environments
- Experience negotiating contracts and agreements
- Ability to skillfully negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external groups
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s/advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of managed markets contracting and pricing experience
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities
- Understanding of organizational behavior, corporate culture and be able to flourish in a complex and rapidly evolving workplace
- Possesses broad base and in-depth understanding of reimbursement issues, payer segments, use of specialty pharmacies, managed market customers including private and public payers.
- Exceptional communication skills that include verbal, written and presentation abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of payer decision-making for formulary processes, coverage, coding, billing, and patient access to drugs, biologicals, medical devices
- Outstanding consultative and networking capabilities
- Extensive relationships and contracting experience with payers, health systems and organized customers at the national and regional level
- Role model of the company vision, mission and values (patients, science, passion).
- Therapeutic experience in the Biosimilars, Oncology, Diabetes, and Immunology marketplace preferred
- Develops and sustains highly collaborative and effective cross-functional working relationships with US and European colleagues
- Develop key external relationships with payers, KOLs and business partners
Role Criteria: Field-based. Requires up to 50% travel
