Job Description

We are a rapidly growing Canadian company that supplies and installs displays for the trade show industry. Our office is located in Scarborough, near McCowan Road and 401. We are looking for a full time Project Planner to complement our team.

To apply for this position, you must be 100% fluent in English and easy to understand over the phone. You must also be an advanced Excel user. Please do not apply if you do not meet these criteria as the role involves a large amount of outside communication.

We are looking for a project planner to start immediately. The main role includes managing projects (timelines, purchasing, freight/logistics). Some general administrative and bookkeeping is also involved. We will train the right candidate if they have the proper skills and desire. You must be able to efficiently manage large amounts of data (entry and calculations). We are looking for an assertive, self managed person that can solve problems.

Regular hours are full time 9-5:30 but may flex when busy as we have peak demand times of year. Summers and Christmas are slower periods. Hence, hours can be banked during busy periods and taken off when slower to match the company's and your personal needs. You must be able to help on booth installations at shows or do deliveries as required. This may happen on evenings and weekends and would be an exception rather than a regular occurrence and could take 15-30% of any given time.

The candidate must:

  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a very strong grasp on Excel – as our systems are mostly Excel based.
  • Have a positive, assertive attitude and be 100% fluent in English as you are interacting with customers. You must be articulate and clearly understood.
  • Have a full G driver’s license.

You should also be an excellent problem solver with strong organizational skills. The job requires an astute attention to detail and someone very self-directed and self-motivated.

The ideal candidate would also:

  • On occasion, physically assist with booth installations and potentially drive a rental truck (up to 26’ long).
  • Have excellent customer service skills
  • Ideally have working knowledge of Quickbooks

This is an entry-level position with a wage starting at $20-30/hr, depending on your skills and background. We are willing to fully train you. The wage is expected to grow quickly as your skills are proven. There is additional earning potential down the road, through bonuses by achieving work goals. We encourage employee growth through on the job training and support salary growth based on measurable results.
