The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Prenatal Care and Inpatient Adult Surgery, the Ward Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: filing, photocopying, faxing, ordering and maintaining supplies; required transport functions; and answering phones.

Hours of Work

Monday-Friday; 800am-400pm. 35 hours bi-weekly.

Your Qualifications

• Data entry skills required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Graduate from a recognized Office Administration Program preferred
• Knowledge of SAP an asset
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology an asset
• Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
• Keyboarding skills minimum of 40 wpm required, 60 wpm is preferred (testing may be conducted on candidates)
• Knowledge of Meditech preferred
• Commitment to continual learning and willing to share knowledge and support the development of co-workers
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of inter-professional team members respectfully.
• Demonstrated commitment to Family Centred Care required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs/technology (testing may be conducted on candidates)
• High degree of initiative, diligence, attention to detail, and self-discipline/focus
• Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and prioritization skills required
• Competencies in other languages an asset.
