The primary role of the Vice-President, Client Services, will be to define and execute high-level strategy of client services operations, activities, the continued company transformation, and the customer experience related for all MSC Canada, in accordance with both local and Geneva business objectives.
ln direct support of MSC Canada's strategic growth plans, the incumbent sets the long-term vision as well as leading the Client Services sub-units that run day-to-day including Import/Export Service and Documentation, Bookings, and Client Service Process and Compliance. They will also have experience in a similar position in a fast-paced company, with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities, be highly innovative and an efficient strategic problem solver. The VP, Client Services, is part of the Executive Management team and will be closely involved with our Commercial and Operational functions.
Key Accountabilities
- Evaluates and solidifies the talent, cultural change management and development of his leaders within the group.
- Creates, defines, and spearheads our Client Services strategic approach and the customer experience long-term vision for MSC Canada nationally.
- Ls responsible for all aspects of service delivery for both import and export cargo movement.
- Acts as a key commercial leader within the Commercial Lead Team, playing a pivotal role with large customers in articulating, improving, and refining the optimal customer experience.
- Ensures compliance with transportation legislation and customs regulations impacting service in all jurisdictions.
- Performs all related tasks as required and requested by management to meet business and service needs.
- Oversees and enhances key targets including import/export turn times, response times, and best in class customer service and full engagement with our customers.
- Supports requirements for RFP process and vendor negotiations where applicable, to optimize cost and service levels.
Qualifications
- Experience working effectively with global, local, and remote teams.
- Ability to successfully recommend, manage and deliver projects.
- Minimum 10 years of management and customer services experience in logistics and supply chain and/or a similarly complex environment/sector.
- Ability to create presence and be viewed as a leader who can shape future thinking.
- A team player, able to work collaboratively across operational and functional teams.
- Strong Commercial and Entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to be hands on if needed, but also able to coach, support and delegate.
- Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to strongly influence and direct others at all levels in both official languages.
- A positive change agent; Ability to handle multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, Master’s degree preferred.
- Available to work on site, 5 days/week.
