Our client is an online supplier and distributor. They are seeking a VP Finance who oversee Operations and Financial Reporting. This position will report to the President of the Company.

About the Opportunity

• Establish continuous improvement directives focused on using Information Technology.
• Build and manage the Finance structure overseeing a growing team
• Prepare performance assessment objectives and evaluations.
• Oversee staff development and monitor performance standards.
• Directing and executing all aspects of accounting operations
• Expanding financial reporting systems to create appropriate dashboard monitoring tools.
• Works collaboratively with other departments to achieve company objectives.
• Driving process automation and system adoption
• Act as a business partner and thought leader to the CEO, COO and management team.
• Manage and direct team priorities to ensure delivery of critical objectives
• Create and report on key performance indicators to monitor and drive financial performance.
• Review, prepare and present monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, reporting and procedures.
• Partner with IT and business applications resources, creating, coordinating and evaluating financial processes and controls and supporting information systems.
• Play a critical role in driving process improvements through improved process and/or automation.
• Developing an annual operating plan and quarterly financial forecast
• Monitor company’s performance yearly ensuring its meeting budget goals.
• Protects assets and mitigates risk by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
• Manage and execute all finance and accounting functions, financial systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting principles, practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in strategic planning and provide guidance and council to the senior leadership team on all areas of finance including effective cost, margin, and price guidance for the Company.
• Play a supporting role in future fundraising projects
• Analyze margins at different selling channels/customers.
• Manage, recommend and improve financial systems for the company (e.g., Xero) & data analytics tools

About You

• Hybrid experience in controllership (monthly close) and FP&A (strategy)
• Experience scaling a high-growth company
• Minimum 10 years experience in progressive leadership roles
• Candidates must reside in the GTA
• CPA (public accounting firm training is required)

Salary Range

$160,000 - $180,000/year
