Alexander College is a private post-secondary institution serving approximately 4,500 students every year. Alexander College offers Associate Degrees as well as first- and second-year university courses for students wishing to transfer to a Bachelor degree program in Canada. These programs, designed to help first- and second-year undergraduates achieve success in their transition to the post-secondary environment, have been highly successful. The seriousness with which Alexander College takes their duty of care, including providing generous supports such as free tutoring and multi-lingual counseling and career services, means that student retention and success rates are high. Alexander College is expanding their multi-campus offering in response to student demand and has come to be seen as a supportive resource for young people from around the globe looking to educate themselves and build a productive life in Canada.
Alexander College is a member of the British Columbia Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT) system and has established transfer agreements with colleges and universities across British Columbia, including the most prestigious universities in the province. With a number of degree programs in the works, Alexander College continues to refine and evolve its own educational offering as well. Alexander College campuses are conveniently located in downtown Vancouver and in central Burnaby.
An opportunity exists for a talented and passionate academic leader to join the organization in the role of President. The President, in addition to acting as the principal college ambassador, will play an essential role in leading the organization through strategic planning, and ensure that all facets of the organization are well positioned to continue to meet the needs of students and the province in terms of workforce development. The President oversees the college’s operational and change management processes, guides the college community in generating a climate that enhances academic excellence and student success, and works externally with key partners. In conjunction with the College Executive team and Board members, the President will guide the college community in fulfilling the College’s strategic directions.
