Job Description
Our client a leading mid-market investment bank based in Toronto ON, focused primarily on M&A Advisory services across multiple industries within Canada and the US, is in search of a Vice President - Client Acquisition
This is a hybrid role preferably based in GTA.
Role Overview
  • Plan and build an incredible high performance client acquisition function; and
  • Reporting to the CEO / Chairman, this is a new position whose role is to build an exceptional client acquisition function for our client The role has two primary responsibilities:
  • Ensure new client targets are met while building the function
What Will You Do
Build and manage an industry-leading Business Development/Sales function
  • Develop success-driven plans and strategies, set targets and KPI's.
  • Build a high-productivity referral network where the referral relationships are owned by the firm, not individuals.
  • Lead, manage, and hold the sales and marketing teams accountable for delivering profitable growth and achieving their monthly, quarterly, and annual targets and KPI’s.
  • Lead the formulation of a vision and plan for the function that aligns with the firm’s values and overall vision for the business.
  • Systematize this function so that it can scale easily and is not dependent upon any one individual.
  • Rapidly build a sustainable, high-output business development/sales function that consistently delivers a continually growing number of quality clients in Canada and USA that meet firm's client criteria.
  • Aid in the recruiting, hiring, and training of the team.
Generate Revenue
  • Implement and champion the firm’s “No Opportunity Lost” philosophy.
  • Work with the deal execution team to maximize leads, prospects, and new clients from their work.
  • Accountable for focusing on building a pipeline through referrals, digital leads, and target prospect outreach.
  • Originate and acquire new clients.
  • Ensure that the firm secures sufficient new clients that meet the firm’s client criteria to support growth plans.
Other
  • Actively participate in additional duties as a part of the firm’s leadership team.
  • Oversee sales and marketing staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the teams to achieve their targets.
  • Contribute to overall firm-building .
  • Responsible for overall sales targets, KPI’s, individual and team execution.
  • Promote and uphold the values of the firm
What Will You Bring
  • Team player with the independence of thought and opinion to provide candor and honesty when making key business decisions.
  • Outstanding consultative selling ability and excellent interpersonal skills with all levels in an organization.
  • Significant experience in B2B sales or business development with a professional services firm or successfully selling large ticket projects.
  • Experience leading a team of professionals. Proven ability to drive team performance.
  • Meaningful and relevant professional services experience and a proven track record of signing clients and exceeding revenue goals. Direct experience in M&A is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Proven ability to set and achieve ambitious sales targets, self-motivated, and highly energetic.
  • Passionate about business results, with a strong sense of accountability, metrics, and ownership.
  • Ability to develop contacts and relationships with potential clients, referral sources, and industry associations.
  • Experience with specific sales methodologies and sales funnel management, including the use of Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
  • Bright, quick, articulate, excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, and able to adapt to different internal and external constituencies.
