Job Description


Bimbo Canada is a market leading producer and distributor of packaged fresh bread, bakery and snacking products with brands such as Dempster’s®, Villaggio®, POM®, Bon Matin®, Ben’s®, Stonemill,® McGavins,® Orowheat®, Vachon® and Takis®. The company operates 16 bakeries and employs approximately 4,200 associates across Canada. Bimbo Canada serves major grocery chains, retail outlets and food service operations across Canada with a robust offering of both branded and private label products.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Must possess excellent communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
  • Work with the local management teams to create and manage training matrix for the department/location
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements
  • Support associate engagement and retention initiatives at the facility(ies)
  • Able to lead others in high-demand situations
  • Travel commensurate with requirements throughout the region you support
  • Coordinate with business partners, including Supply Chain Leadership Team, Training Specialists, Safety, and Human Relations to ensure associates complete all requirements
  • Take a lead in identifying best training practices, make improvements and share with these changes with the Leadership Team
  • Maintain documentation, including training logs, sign in sheets, and electronic signatures to verify training completion and ensure this information is logged
  • Facilitate training and onboarding for newly hired associates and act as culture ambassador to support a positive associate experience
  • Provide information about the performance to the supervisors of your team and suggest alternatives that would lead to an improvement in said performance.
  • Coordinate individual and group training events as needed


Job Requirements


Educational Background & Work Experience


  • Previous experience in a unionized food, dairy, beverage or packaged goods industry is a definite asset
  • Strong leadership skills
  • The flexibility to adapt to a 24-hour, 7-day operation schedule
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards, regulations and best practices
  • The successful candidate will possess a relevant post-secondary education
  • Knowledge of good labour/management practices including progressive discipline and positive reinforcement techniques
  • Superior communication skills in a multi-cultural environment and the ability to deal with a variety of front-line industrial relations issues
  • Takes initiative, exercises good judgment in day-to-day business decisions
