Staff Accountant - Part Time

The ideal candidate is someone working towards their CPA that has had some experience in public practice in Canada working with small businesses. We are a boutique bookkeeping firm that is fully paperless and we use cutting edge accounting technology to its full potential. If you love Excel and journal entries, this is NOT the right place for you.

Do you have….

• Current experience using Rep a Client and dealing with CRA agents
• Experience processing payroll & filing Worksafe BC returns
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• An optimistic, friendly & supportive attitude
• Proficient in English communication: both verbal and written
• A willingness to learn new bookkeeping procedures.
• Understanding and ability to troubleshoot bank reconciliations
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent understanding of GST and PST
• Current experience filing T4's & T5's
• Current experience with preparing T1's
• Current experience using Quickbooks Online, especially the Sales Tax Module, QBOP, bank reconciliation, & bank feeds/rules
• Patience to train and answer questions from junior bookkeepers on our team, and our clients
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changing technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting. Working towards CPA Designation preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in public practice (working with small businesses) in Canada.
• Proficient in QBO
