Ideal candidates will have a university degree in Accounting or related degree.
Position:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant/Bookkeeper to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The accountant's responsibilities include full-cycle accounting with day-to-day accounting, account payable and receivable cycle, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepares various working papers on a monthly and quarterly basis for internal reporting and for the use by external accountant;
- Support revenue recognition process including client billing, journal entries and period end reporting;
- Managing the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting processes, including the preparation of financial statements;
- Preparing and remitting WorkSafe;
- Manage the full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycles to support working capital management and cashflow forecasting;
- Preparing and remitting the quarterly GST returns;
- Completing the bi-weekly payroll process (using Quickbooks) and recording all associated payroll expenses;
- Perform account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, report and identify errors for correction; and
- Process employee expenses and reimbursements;
- Special projects and any other reasonable duties and responsibilities assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel;
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Strong problem-solving skills; able to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot problems;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Experience with Replicon (time tracking and billing software) is preferable; and
- Experience with Quickbooks.
- Strong financial analysis skills;
- 3+ years of accounting experience preferably on Consulting or Public Practice;
