ProLedger is a committed team of Professional Accountants seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team. We are a boutique accounting firm that offers bookkeeping, payroll, business solutions, and software integration services to Canadian businesses.
The ideal candidate is a well-organized team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work as an individual contributor. The incumbent should be comfortable in managing data in Excel, Quickbooks, and other third-party software that integrates into our technology stack.This is an excellent opportunity for an intermediate accountant and/or bookkeeper interested in acquiring experience within an innovative accounting firm.
Note this is a contract position with part-time hours of 25 hours per week. The successful applicant will be working from home and can choose when to complete the 25 hours between the work hours of 9AM to 5PM Monday to Friday. The duration of the contract is three months with the possibility of renewal and further career growth opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills
-Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting or finance
-Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping
-Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel (v-lookup, match, pivot tables)
-Experience in Quickbooks and Xero considered an asset
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Detail oriented with strong technical and analytical skills
-Exceptional organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
-Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive to new technology and required skills
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
Key Accountabilities:
-Data entry and financial record management
-Monthly reconciliations
-Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
-Prepare correspondence and other administrative support duties as requested
-Perform monthly transactions and reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
-Support practice leaders on ad-hoc accounting and administrative duties
