Our Opportunity

We are seeking a Manager to work collaboratively with a highly talented team to oversee the various accounting functions within Restaurant Brands International Inc. [“RBI”] (including iconic brands such Tim Hortons, Burger King and Popeyes). This individual will be a part of the Record to Report Tower in Global Business Services [“GBS”] and has full responsibility over the RBI’s accounting processes. The role will involve oversight of various accounting functions and the coordination of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. This position provides the opportunity to gain broad experience in accounting operations, financial reporting and corporate accounting. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic working environment and has a passion for undertaking process improvement projects in a wide spectrum of areas (e.g. IT, Technical Accounting, SOX).

Roles And Responsibilities

• Review key deliverables provided to the Global Accounting and SEC Reporting teams (e.g. PBCs, Business reporting).
• Act as the key resource bringing together technical accounting, system and internal processes to meet the needs of the business
• Review and ensuring timely and accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare analyses and develop processes for the team to record and monitor complex accounting transactions
• Supervise month end GL close and execute internal control processes
• Act as a key contact for external and internal auditors (e.g. SOX and Accounting).
• Collaborate on several important projects with cross-functional teams across the Company

Required Skills

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products: PowerQuery & PowerBI are an asset
• Self-starter and an ability to work proactively and independently
• Knowledge of Hyperion/OneStream is considered an asset
• Attention to detail and the ability to prepare high quality outputs
• Experience managing a BPO team is considered an asset
• Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-moving environment
• Excellent organizational, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Results oriented with an ability to be agile in execution
• Demonstrated ability to establish collaborative relationships with cross functional business partners and all levels
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), preferably with Big 4 accounting firm experience and increasing responsibilities in roles with managing month-end closes for large organizations
• Ability to govern process change implementation programs with a focus on developing automated processing
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Experience with fixed asset, deferred revenue and lease accounting
• Ability to learn processes and procedures quickly
