We are looking for a full-time Total Rewards Specialist. As a key member of the Human Resources team, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources. In this role, you will be responsible for administration of the group benefits program and other wellness programs. You will also be responsible for HR reporting and payroll validation. This position is suitable for a highly organized and analytical individual, who is committed to providing exceptional service and continuous improvement of our processes and rewards programs.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Participate in annual benefit plan renewal processes, including project coordination, research, development of recommendations and implementation of changes
- Administer and respond to all benefit, payroll and compensation related inquiries, timely and confidentially
- Provide new employees with onboarding sessions explaining our benefits and assist with enrollment procedures
- Administer all leaves of absences including short term absences and long term leaves, including effective communication and facilitation with external consultants
- Participate in benefits or compensation related projects as required
- Other relevant duties as assigned
- Validate HR data for payroll submission on a bi-weekly basis
- Monitor benefit plan utilization and performance, and participate in annual budget process and forecasting of expenses
- Conduct regular audits on benefits and compensation related data and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with Payroll and HR team members to ensure accurate and timely processing of benefits and compensation related transactions
- Analyze and reconcile monthly benefit invoices for Management approval
- Generate and prepare benefit and compensation reports as required
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Adobe, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a university degree
- Experience with an HRIS system and reporting
- CEBS or any other related designation is an asset
- Knowledge of Human Resources department procedures and Canadian benefits and compensation legislation, regulations and programs
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
- Demonstrates excellent client service and ability to anticipate client needs
- Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
